It's that time of the year again, when you stress about buying the perfect gift and hoping that the other person loves it.For me, it's the time that Nicky Batch asks me what do i want and my answer is always - surprise me and then i spend most of the month hinting and pointing in shops...
So here is my top tip for you guys, who are looking to buy a gift for your lady......
Does she love Gin? If yes, here are some of my top gins of the year
Pollination gin is produced by the highest standard London Dry method, in extremely limited small batches, using pure grain spirit and locally drawn spring water. Their foraged botanicals come from within the Biosphere: from the Snowdonia foothills, through the Dyfi Forest, and down to the estuary marshlands.
It's sold out on the Dyfi Distillery website, so if you see it in a shop ( try wallys deli- then buy it )
This goes perfectly with Llanllyr source tonic.
Price around £35
GŴYR is made with a blend of eight botanicals including juniper, fresh zest of lemon, fresh zest of pink grapefruit, green fennel and bronze fennel.
The botanicals are macerated for almost two days and the infused spirit is then slowly distilled to create the GŴYR blend. The ABV of 43% creates a smooth finish to this juniper forward, citrussy gin with aromatic fennel undertones.
Price around £35 - you can buy the bottle in Wallys deli
Fav tonic with this 1724 tonic
Eccentric Gin - Madam Geneva
Madam Geneva – London Dry: 42% ABV. A London Dry as it should be. Simple, dry and Juniper forward with Citrus and a hint of Liquorice and some subtle floral and sweet characters added by the sacred duo “meadowsweet and wild sunflower”
Eccentric Gin also do the Dewi Sant Gin - if you can pick this one up ( it's limited and full of Citrus flavour )
Price around £35
Tom Ford - Black Orchid
A dramatic signature unfolds with the custom-made TOM FORD BLACK ORCHID blended with dark, tempting florals and rich fruit accords. The heart is deepened with the intoxicating Lotus Wood.
The decadent Noir Gourmand Accord is balanced by Patchouli-incense and Vetiver. Vanilla tears add a fluid creaminess to warm Balsam and smooth Sandalwood.
Price - £58.00- £115
Available in John Lewis, Debenhams, House of Fraiser.
Gucci - Floral
Capturing the spirit of the contemporary, diverse and authentic women of Gucci, Bloom is creative director Alessandro Michele's first fragrance for the House. Envisioned as a thriving garden of flowers, Bloom is created to unfold like its name.
Notes of natural tuberose and Jasmine leave an unexpectedly rich white floral scent on the skin. Rangoon Creeper, a plant that changes colour when it blooms, infuses a powdery, floral edge.
£44 - £88
Jo Malone - Pomegranate Noir
The sensuality of a daring red dress. Ruby-rich juices of pomegranate, raspberry and plum are spiked with pink pepper and laced with Casablanca lily and spicy woods. A dark and enigmatic fragrance.
It's a powerful smell, if you fancy buying something a bit lighter go for the - Peony & Blush Suede or English Pear & Freesia
They will also pack the perfume for you ( like they did on Love Actually - so make sure you have enough time to wait for this procedure to be done)
Prices - £45 - £100
