Where's the best place in Cardiff for tapas?

Hola!

Patatas Bravas, pimientos de pandron, jamon, churros is the delight of many sunshine breaks by the sea in Spain, sipping a sangria with oversized sunglasses, maxi dress and a head scarf, escaping the everyday and being someone else for a week or two. The culture, the food, the fabulous music and drinks. Those moments in life, stay with us forever and when reality hits and you’re on that cramped flight home, you just want to taste the memory again.

At Bar 44. you are back by the sea, stepping in to an underground nook of colourful tiles, oversized vibrant Spanish artwork, the finest jamón and freshest of fish. You can enjoy a table full of tapas plates and a tipple of sherry with a loved one.

Bar 44 was founded by two brothers, Tom and Owen Morgan, in 2002. Having fallen in love with Spanish food, drink and culture throughout their formative years, they wanted to bring their favourite tapas dishes and a slice of modern Spanish culture to Wales and boy, we are grateful for it.

The bar offers different food and drink menus in order to showcase the huge variety of quality Spanish produce available. All the menus are a reflection of Tom and Owen’s travels across Spain, showcasing outstanding produce such as Galician beef, San Lucar prawns, Carmona Olives and aged Manzanilla sherry, the list goes on and on.

Bar 44 seeks out the best ingredients and serves the dishes with a modern twist and a whole load of passion from their kitchen and front of house staff.

This year, they ventured to deliver the taste of Spain for you to enjoy at home, with Mercado 44, from home made sherry aioli to their own Rama 44 extra virgin olive oil.

This little beauty of a business has given us so many lovely moments of sun during the hardest times, through their delivery service, mother’s day lunches and pop in deli.

It’s a perfect little spot for an afternoon tipple with some cracking Spanish tapas with your friends, family or a cheeky date. ( if you don't mind sharing)
